Conference Centre 41
Picking a function venue for your conference venue, selection can impact on your brand name. What is the message and the emotion you want the audience left with? A clinical office environment maybe enough for a lot of conferences but if you are trying to instill something great into the event then the conference venue will have a big impact.
The audience impression of the venue is implicitly linked to your brand. If you are trying to convey importance, change, growth etc then consider how your conference centre reflects this. What about Flair? Don’t have a conference concerning productivity in an unproductive environment. Ensure that venue choice matches this sentiment.
From the minute the people walk in, what do you want to be their first feeling? Flair, quality, change? This will set the conference tone. The conference environment can affect the work at a conference. Do you need external ‘break out’ areas? What about intimacy of the space vs majesty of the occasion. How are you reconciling these? The noises people hear at a venue will have an impact. Timber floor boards sound very different to cheap laminate.
Sounds & smells can be very emotive. We associate them with our own experiences. Does the entrance to the conference need to be impressive? Does it inspire creativity? How is the food at your centre? Does it send the wrong content? Is it sensational? What are the ideals you are trying to convey? So how is that reflected in the surrounds & the conference experience in general?
