Crummy Poker Poker Hands that Look Good

Some pokern hands look great but will almost always get you into trouble. Keep away from these guys unless you’re near the last to act.

If you’re at a full table, you’ve got to be picky about what you play, since there are so many hands that could potentially beat you. Here are a few poker hands that look good, but will lose more often than not.

Low connectors: It should go without saying, but these online poker hands are bad news. Players will get enticed with a straight possibility, but unless you hit a straight, two pair or trips on the flop, you’re still in trouble. Even if you pair one of your cards, there are a host of over cards to beat yours. They look good in your hand, but if you’re first to act, toss them.

Ace-9 and lower: So many people fall in love with the Ace, that they’ll play any hole cards that have one. The sad fact is that there are three other Aces out there, and even if you manage to pair one, chances are good that someone’s got a better kicker.

Pocket Jacks: Pocket faces look so good, but in the long run, there are literally a dozen over cards that can burn you on the flop. If a Queen, King or Ace shows up at any time, there’s the risk of a better pair on the table. These guys are okay to play if you’re near the last to act, but don’t risk it if you’re near the first to act.
