Groom Tips on What to Pack for the Honeymoon
This is no ordinary trip. If you are going away on your honeymoon throwing together a couple of shirts and wearing one pair of jeans is just not going to cut it. There’s a whole lot of advice out there for brides, but grooms need just as much help (if not more!) in the packing department. Sexy lingerie and slinky dresses may be just fine for her, but what about you? Your friends at Groomstand.com have created a quick list of pointers for you.
This is by no means an exhaustive list, but here are some essential honeymoon packing tips for grooms.
Avoid the Night Before Rush: Although it may go against male sensibilities, planning what to pack ahead of time can save you from being caught unprepared on your honeymoon. Think about the kinds of things you will be doing (i.e. scuba diving, city sightseeing, hiking, etc.) and check your wardrobe (at least a month in advance). If you are missing some items, buy them now. Pack at least a week in advance.
The 007 Edge: If you are planning on stepping outside of your honeymoon suite to go out for a fancy dinner or a show, then you should pack something nice to wear. It doesn’t have to be a three-piece suit, but some nice dress shirts, slacks and shoes will go a long way into setting the mood for a night out on the town.
The Crease Factor: Choose items that are not likely to be riddled with creases once you arrive. One tip is to get an outfit (or two) dry cleaned beforehand, as they have better chances of keeping their shape in your suitcase.
I’m Too Sexy: Who says that women have to have all the fun in the sleepwear department? Surprise her with couple of boxers or briefs that she has never seen before. Whatever is sexy to you (and her!).
Avoid the Pharmacy Run: It may seem obvious, but pack enough condoms, lubricants, etc. especially if it is not your intention to come home with a little something extra from your honeymoon. Make sure you have enough of your favorite brands, as the last thing you will want to do is go hunting around in an unfamiliar pharmacy.
The Back-up Plan: Pack at least one or two outfits and essential toiletries in your carry on bag just in case your luggage gets delayed or lost. The last thing you want is to be caught out without clothes for your first day or to spend time looking for replacement outfits.
The Hotel Collection: Only choose those toiletries that you cannot live without. Otherwise, any good hotel will have the essentials like shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, etc.
