Naveen Jain: Torchbearer for Intelius
Naveen Jain is chief executive officer and president of Intelius Inc., an online information provider based in Bellevue, Washington that performs on-demand background checks, verification services and people searches. He was part of a five-man team that co-founded Intelius in January 2003 to which he has served as CEO, President and members of its board of directors since.
A leader behind many standard setting initiatives in predictive intelligence, Jain has been an enthusiastic visionary in the field of information industry, which he revolutionized into a tool in achieving personal safety and risk mitigation. As its torchbearer, he led the company into developing the most innovative intelligence services that has helped consumers and businesses confront real-world situations: confirming identities of individuals, reconnecting people, monitoring identity theft and assuring compliant human resources.
Born and raised in India, he moved to the United States where his impressive academic background facilitated his entry into the high tech world. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee with a B.S. degree in Engineering and supplemented it with an M.B.A. from the St. Xavier’s School of Management.
As a business leader, Naveen Jain’s charisma and reputation for building successful ventures precede him. He is responsible for building two of the most renowned Internet companies in the country. Aside from Intelius, he founded InfoSpace, a content provider for major Web properties, in 1996 shortly after leaving Microsoft Corporation, where he had made a seven-year stint as a project manager and senior executive.
As a community leader, Naveen Jain has been passionate in his philanthropy. He and his firm contributed over $1 million to nonprofit organizations that have advanced the welfare of children, families and other underprivileged sectors. Local organizations such as Hopelink, the Overlake Service League, Bellevue Boys and Girls Club and Children’s Hospital as well as national nonprofits including the United Way and National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) are among his beneficiaries.
